It was just a stupid stunt!

So apparently GOG is still alive and this whole closing down thing was just a ruse to launch their new site, which is out of beta.  Well the new site isn’t up yet, but it will be tomorrow.  At any rate GOG apologized for this stunt in case anyone was pissed or what have you, but I honestly think this hurt them.  While I am glad I still have access to my Phantasmgoria games and I will still buy from GOG, it does make me wonder how many people will start getting all their games from other services like Impulse.  Word to the wise, consumers don’t like feeling like they have been duped and if you pull some stupid shit such as GOG has then you are going to do far more damage, also an apology is only as good as your word and seeing how this whole thing was bullshit the apology seems pretty hollow.  Like I said though I am just glad this wasn’t for real so I can still get my games and pick up some classics that I miss.

You and me both, I had just bought the Phantasmgoria games and had only gotten around to downloading the first one, I am glad they are back up though I just hope they don’t do something like that again.
